Mayor and Town Council

The Town of Sandyfield's elected officials include the Mayor, who serves four-year terms, and five Town Council Members. These officials are responsible for making important policy decisions that affect the town’s growth, infrastructure, and quality of life. With staggered four-year terms for Council Members, elections are held every two years, ensuring a steady, balanced leadership for the town.

Transparent and Inclusive Governance

The Town of Sandyfield's elected officials are committed to maintaining an open line of communication with residents. Town elections for the Mayor and Council are non-partisan and held at large every two years in November of odd-numbered years. The Council works closely with several appointed boards and advisory committees to ensure community input in key decision-making processes.

Citizen Participation in Council Meetings

Residents are encouraged to participate in Council meetings by voicing their concerns and ideas. To ensure that all voices are heard, citizens are asked to limit their comments to 2 minutes when speaking at a Council meeting. Written materials can be submitted to the council for those who wish to present more detailed information. If a citizen would like to speak on a specific topic at a meeting, they must fill out an Agenda Request Form and submit it to the Town Clerk at least 5 days before the meeting. For assistance, the Town Clerk’s office can be reached at (910) 655-9877.
